A Forever Kissmas Carol.
Disclaimers: They aren't mine. Lois, and Clark belong to DC Comics and the WB. Kiley, is, of course, mine. Much thanks to my beta reader.
Clark watched his baby girl admiring the lights on the Christmas tree. She reached for one of the ornaments, her dark curls bobbing. Slowly, he slid off the couch and started creeping towards her. This was their favorite game. He loved the shrieks of laughter that would often precede him catching her.
Her little body tensed, and she took a quick backward glance over her shoulder. Her arms tightened on her blanket and rag doll as he snuck closer to his target, growling softly. She looked back at him, and with a shout of laughter, ran as fast as her little legs would carry her to the other side of the couch.
"Kiley," he chanted. "I'm gonna *get* you!"
She laughed again and kept running. Clark soon captured Kiley, and threw her into the air, catching her on her way down. "Yummy, a Kiley-cookie," he said playfully before he pretended to munch on her tummy, and her laughter turned to shrieks of terror.
"Mommy!" she yelled, struggling against his grasp.
"What's the matter, punkin'?" Lois asked, walking in the room.
"Mon'ter, Mommy," the little girl sobbed. "Mon'ter Daddy."
Lois walked over and pushed on Clark's forehead. Getting the idea, he released his baby, and lay down on the floor. Lois picked Kiley up and cuddled her. "Do you still see a monster, baby?" she asked.
Kiley rubbed her face on Lois's shoulder, then stuck her thumb in her mouth. She examined Clark then shook her head. "No Mon'ter--Priwnce Waming."
"Prince Charming?" Lois asked, fighting a grin.
"Uh huh," the little girl nodded.
"What's he doing?" Lois asked.
Lois kissed Kiley on the cheek. "And what do you think we should do, sweetheart?"
"Wak 'em *up*--tiss 'im."
"*Kiss* him?" Lois looked at her husband and shook her head. "I don't know, baby--I don't go around kissing strange princes."
"Mommy, *tiss 'im*," the child insisted.
Lois laughed, set Kiley on the floor, then knelt down beside Clark. She leaned over and kissed him on the forehead. "Will that work, punkin'?"
"No!" Kiley stomped her foot emphatically.
Lois picked up Clark's hand and placed a kiss in his palm, then looked inquiringly back at Kiley."
"Uh uh," Kiley said, shaking her head.
Lois leaned over and kissed the end of Clark's nose. "How's that?" she asked.
Kiley folded her arms across her chest. "No."
Lois placed a gentle kiss on Clark's lips. His arms came up around her, and he quickly deepened the kiss. Kiley cheered, ran over to them, and threw herself in Clark's lap. The kiss ended quickly with the three of them all tangled together on the floor.
Clark hugged Kiley and placed a kiss on the top of her small head. "I think it's time for all little girls to be in bed so that Santa Claus will come," he said, as Kiley snuggled closer to him, her red, fuzzy footie pajamas making a bright contrast against his black sweater.
"San'y Clas?" Kiley questioned.
"It's Christmas, baby," Lois reminded her baby gently.
"Mewy Tissmas, Mommy an' Daddy," Kiley said. Clark stood up, pulling Lois with him. They enfolded the child in a sandwich hug, before Clark kissed Lois lovingly.
"Merry Christmas, Kiley," Lois said.
Clark kissed Lois again before heading to the stairs. "Merry Kissmas, honey," he called. Lois smiled as she watched her husband and their daughter head upstairs. And so it was.
And a Merry Christmas to all FoLCs, far and near.
